ABSI Makes Strategic Hire in Mark Johnson, Director of Government Services

ABSI Aerospace & Defense is pleased to announce the addition of former Tomahawk Program Manager, Capt. (ret.) Mark Johnson, as Director of Government Services.

In this leadership position, Mr. Johnson will oversee government contracts and act as a management liaison for the company, ensuring continuity and quality of service and performance.

“Mark’s experience and knowledge as a test pilot, a squadron CO, and as program manager within NAVAIR will have a direct impact on our ability to grow business and better serve clients here at Patuxent River and across our business as a whole,” said Chris Sacco, CEO of ABSI. “Like all ABSI hires, Mark brings real-world experience that will directly influence the way we counsel and serve our client base and ultimately the warfighter. We are excited to welcome Mark to the team.”

Prior to coming to ABSI, Mr. Johnson was the Tomahawk Program Manager, where he led a workforce of more than 800 employees as the program planned, developed and executed three new major defense programs, implemented a rapid strategy for the Maritime Strike Tomahawk upgrade, and delivered the first modernized Block V Tactical Tomahawk.  At NAVAIR, he also served as the Assistant Program Manager for Test and Evaluation and the MH-60R Integrated Program Team Lead in the H-60 Program Office.  In the fleet, he served as Commanding Officer of HSM-75, where he transitioned the squadron from SH-60B to the MH-60R helicopter.  Mr. Johnson attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, graduated from the Naval Test Pilot School, and accumulated more than 3,000 flight hours in a variety of rotary and fixed wing aircraft.
