ABSI Aerospace & Defense Wins Award to Develop Space Test Curriculum for United States Air Force Test Pilot School

ABSI is pleased to announce that the company has been awarded a prime contract, through the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School, to develop the first ever space test curriculum to help engineers and operators of space vehicles involved in new system development to approach test and evaluation with a disciplined test mindset, provide an appropriate toolset, and expose the students to current, relevant space test projects and methods.

“This is an exciting opportunity for ABSI,” said Chris Sacco, Chief Executive Officer. “With our nation’s renewed commitment to space flight, there will be a critical need for space operators and engineers to have the tools required to test and evaluate these increasingly complex vehicles and systems. We are privileged to have the chance to work with the test and evaluation professionals at U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School and the well-rounded team of test pilots, engineers and former astronauts at ABSI are excited to help spearhead this ground-breaking effort.”

ABSI test pilots and engineers have unique experience including many years of test pilot instruction and flight testing and have worked across many different manned and unmanned platforms. Their vast background operating, testing and training a variety of aircraft and weapons systems will also build on expertise in simulation and modeling, Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) training technologies, and autonomous systems, to develop the first space test and evaluation curriculum to be introduced in a test pilot school environment.

“Modern weapon systems in all domains heavily leverage space technologies to increase combat capability, but the use of these technologies increases system complexity and introduces new vulnerabilities. The developmental test community must address these challenges as early as possible in the development cycle to effectively test and evaluate modern systems,” said Cody Allee, Chief Technology Officer at ABSI. “ABSI Aerospace & Defense has the right team on board to develop this curriculum for the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School.
