Anti-Tamper Engineer / Scientist, Senior

The Anti-Tamper Engineer/Scientist (Senior) must be capable of supporting the Anti Tamper team through implementation of Program Protection controls AND practice System Security Engineering. The qualified applicant will provide support to an established DoD System Security Engineering (Anti-Tamper) Services department.

This position applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other technical documentation. Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.

This position will require the qualified candidate to:

·         Evaluate system designs and capabilities to identify Critical Program Information (CPI), Critical Technology (CT), and Mission Essential Functions (MEF).

·         Participate in risk assessments related to engineering design, system capability and program Key Performance Parameters (KPP) and Key System Attributes (KSA).

·         Developing integrated systems security requirements that encompass defensives solutions in the specialty areas related to Technology Protection, Anti-Tamper and Cybersecurity.

·         Evaluate countermeasures, controls and architectures to be integrated into systems under development.

·         Verify SSE requirements and validating SSE designs.

·         Evaluate cybersecurity controls and SSE architectures.

·         Validate integrated system designs.

·         Develop systems engineering and acquisition artifacts for approval by the program manager, technical warrant holders, and acquisition decision authorities.

 

Job duties/required knowledge:

·         Knowledge of AT requirements and AT architectures

·         Knowledge of Assess AT Counter Measure Attack Trees, vulnerability reports and residual risk artifacts for systems under development and in the fleet

·         Assess Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Navy (DoN), and NAVAIR Cyber policies, instructions, and Standard Work Packages for Research and Technology Protection, Critical Program Information (CPI) Identification, System Criticality Analysis/MEF, AT, Trusted Secure Networks (TSN), Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), Cyber Risk Assessment (CRA), and CYBERSAFE

·         Must be a self-starter capable of taking a task and following through with very little supervision

Education:

Position requires a MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for a MS or MA degree. These four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the “Experience” requirements below, therefore, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.

Required Experience:

At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to naval systems. Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise is required.

 

A SECRET Security Clearance is required.
