ITAT: The Safest First Rep in Kinetic Counter-UAS Training

Operational System | In Production

Before your operators can engage complex, fast-moving UAS threats, they need repeatable reps against a realistic target — without risking aircraft systems, without standing up a dedicated target UAS fleet. ITAT is how you start.

Key Capabilities

  • One-to-Many Training Economics

One Sky Badger tow platform. Unlimited ITAT presentations. A small durable tow fleet supports thousands of kinetic reps — the only consumable cost is the ITAT itself.

  • No Dedicated Target Aircraft Required

The tow platform is never expended. No separate target UAS fleet. No additional airspace clearance for the target. Dramatically lower logistics burden than any model that uses an operational UAS as the target.

  • High-Volume, Low-Cost Repetition

Disposable design keeps per-rep cost low enough to support the repetition frequency that builds genuine operator proficiency at scale

  • Dual Configuration

Printable and laser-cut variants support different production, logistics, and budget contexts. Both are biodegradable and battery-free.

  • Environmentally Responsible Materials

Biodegradable, battery-free construction. No hazardous materials, no battery disposal concerns, no range restrictions on target debris.

Use Cases - Applications

Primary
  • Live-fire kinetic training against aerial targets

  • Operator qualification and weapons familiarization

  • High-volume, high-frequency engagement training at scale

  • Regulatory-constrained environments where live UAS targets are restricted

Secondary
  • Law enforcement and homeland security training

  • Unit-level training without dedicated UAS support assets

  • Initial C-UAS training environments with limited budget or infrastructure

Your First Step. Not Your Last.

Build the Baseline. Then Build the Program.

ITAT is the right place to start a kinetic C-UAS training program. It’s not where most programs end.

Operators who have never taken a kinetic shot at a moving aerial target are not ready to engage a high-speed FPV swarm or a loitering munition on approach. ITAT builds that baseline readiness — at the lowest cost, lowest complexity, and highest repetition rate available. When your program is ready to step up, ABSI’s full aerial targets portfolio is waiting. You don’t change vendors. You just add capability.

Note: Sky Badger enables ITAT employment in regulated or congested airspace environments where direct live-UAS target operations are restricted. In those contexts, Sky Badger is not a step up from ITAT — it is what makes ITAT possible. See the Sky Badger product page for full tow platform and threat replication details.

Training Stage System What It Adds
Start Here ITAT Foundational kinetic training. Small tow fleet. Unlimited ITAT engagements.
Step Up Gnat Storm (EVX-5) Add density and mass. Swarm and FPV threat emulation with live UAS platforms.
Add Volume Rattler (CFX-20) Scalable Group 1–3 threat replication. The workhorse for sustained training programs.
Add Complexity Pit Viper (EFX-7) High-speed dual-role: strike and interceptor profiles in a single airframe.
Go Further Full ATD Portfolio Nine purpose-built systems. One GCS. Every threat class.

Acquisition Pathway

  Simple System. Simple Acquisition.

ITAT is available to U.S. government customers, prime contractors, and authorized partners through the Defense Logistics Agency’s Special Operational Equipment Tailored Logistic Support (DLA SOE/TLS) program, GSA schedules, and direct contracting pathways.

Because ITAT contains no electronic components, it carries none of the NDAA supply chain compliance requirements, FCC equipment authorization processes, or Blue UAS vetting burdens associated with electronic UAS systems. Procurement is as straightforward as the system itself.

Start with Reps. Move to Sets. Build the Program

Every advanced C-UAS training program starts somewhere. ITAT is the lowest-friction, highest-repetition starting point available — and the first step into the ABSI aerial targets ecosystem.
