Air Platform Stores Integration Engineer / Scientist, Senior (SECRET Clearance Required)

The Engineer Scientist Senior engineer will be working as a lead senior engineer. This position will support negotiating/coordinating with Technical Area Experts (software, flutter, mass properties, separation, materials, safety, etc.), TYCOM, platform software teams and TMS teams, Joint weapons teams with other services, and is responsible for performing as a lead engineer with very little supervision in the following engineering duties:

·         drafting and reviewing Interim and Permanent Flight Clearances for the integration of respective weapon systems in various configurations for the assigned platform as well as writing Stores Integration Plans, translating Fleet requests into requirements

·         reviewing and approving NATIP changes with respective weapons

·         coordinating and initiating Aircraft/Weapons software updates, and

·         all the related SETR events.

Job duties:

·         Performs tasks with little or no guidance.

·         Leads the execution of complex tasks.

·         Has demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise.

·         Applies and integrates engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems.

·         Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other technical documentation.

·         Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.

·         Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems.

Education:

Position requires a MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for a MS or MA degree. These four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the “Experience” requirements below, therefore, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.

Required Experience:

At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to naval systems. Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise is required.

·         Mechanical and or Aero background a must.

·         Prior aircraft integration experience a must.

·         Prior experience leading big programs and working in a program office a must.

·         Prior Military a plus. Weapons integration experience a plus.

 

·         SECRET Security Clearance Required.
