September 1, 2021: ABSI continues to build its exceptional workforce with two new hires primarily aimed at supporting the Space Test Fundamentals Course curriculum development and presentation.

Bringing Air Force, NASA and college instructional experience to the team, Mark Pestana joined ABSI in August as a Flight Test & Evaluation Instructor. Pestana’s background in test, evaluation and space will bring immediate benefits to the Space Test Fundamentals Course that ABSI is delivering to the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School.

Throughout his 30+ year career, Pestana has amassed more than 5,000 flight hours. Most recently, his work as a research pilot helped validate concepts for safe and efficient operations of unmanned aircraft systems. Pestana earned his bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences from Loyola Marymount and a Master of Systems Management/Research Development from the University of Southern California.

ABSI’s CEO Chris Sacco stated, “We’re very excited to welcome both Mark on board. His additions will enhance the company’s strategic perspective, benefit our customers and contribute to their mission success.”
